SYNCSPLINT® · POWERING JAW BY JAW™

Additional interarch support.

SyncSplint® is an individually designed orthodontic appliance used together with clear aligners as part of the Jaw By Jaw™ treatment concept.

It connects the actively moving dental arch with the stabilized opposite arch, allowing the stabilized arch to participate as an additional reference and support structure during the corresponding treatment stage.

SyncSplint for clear aligners
What Is SyncSplint®?

Designed to work with clear aligners.

SyncSplint® is not used instead of clear aligners. It is integrated into the treatment sequence and used together with them during the corresponding Jaw By Jaw™ stage.

01

Individually Designed

The appliance is designed for the patient’s dental arches and the objectives of the specific treatment stage.

02

Used With Aligners

SyncSplint® works as part of the clear-aligner protocol, not as a replacement for active aligner treatment.

03

Stage Specific

The appliance can be designed according to which arch is moving and which arch is providing the stabilized reference.

The Role of SyncSplint®

One arch moves.
The other supports.

The role of SyncSplint® changes together with the treatment stage. When the moving and anchoring arches switch roles, the appliance strategy changes with them.

Stage 01

Upper arch moving.

The upper teeth are actively aligned while the lower dental arch is stabilized.

  • Upper aligners perform active tooth movement
  • Lower arch is stabilized
  • SyncSplint® provides additional interarch support

Stage 02

Lower arch moving.

After the upper arch reaches its planned position, it is stabilized and the lower teeth become the actively moving arch.

  • Upper arch becomes the stabilized reference
  • Lower aligners perform active tooth movement

The Functional Principle

Connecting movement and stability.

Within Jaw By Jaw™, the appliance creates a connection between the actively treated arch and the stabilized opposite arch.

1
Active arch Clear aligners guide the planned tooth movements.
2
Stabilized arch The opposite dental arch provides a more stable reference during the stage.
3
Interarch connection SyncSplint® links the two arches according to the individually planned treatment configuration.
Individual Design

Planned for the individual treatment stage.

The design and use of SyncSplint® depend on the patient’s anatomy, the planned tooth movements and the role of each dental arch during the corresponding treatment stage.

Patient Anatomy

The appliance is designed around the individual dental arches.

Planned Movements

The design reflects the treatment objectives defined by the clinician.

Arch Roles

The moving and stabilized arches are defined for each treatment stage.

Stage Transition

The next appliance configuration can be planned when the arches switch roles.

One Coordinated System

Aligners + stabilization + SyncSplint®.

Jaw By Jaw™ combines active tooth movement, stabilization and interarch support within one sequential treatment strategy.

Clinician-Directed Treatment

SyncSplint® is part of an individually planned treatment protocol.

The treating clinician determines whether the Jaw By Jaw™ concept and SyncSplint® are appropriate for a specific patient, which arch is treated first, the planned movements, the required stabilization and the timing of transition between treatment stages.

One Moving Arch.
One Anchoring Arch.
Then Switch.
